Leadership

George Kadifa, our Chief Executive Officer and a member of our board of directors , is a Managing Director of Sumeru Equity Partners, where he focuses on leading investments in enterprise technology companies. Mr. Kadifa is a member of the firm’s investment committee and has over 30 years of operating experience in the technology sector. Prior to joining Sumeru Equity Partners in 2015, Mr. Kadifa was Executive Vice President at HP, where he was the General Manager of HP’s $4 billion software business. In this role, Mr. Kadifa reported directly to the CEO and was a member of the Executive Committee. Prior to his role at HP, Mr. Kadifa served as an Operating Partner at Silver Lake, a global technology investment firm with over $26 billion of assets under management, where he was responsible for driving growth and operational improvement in a wide range of enterprises. Mr. Kadifa has significant expertise in building and managing technology businesses and has held various leadership positions at technology and management consulting companies such as IBM, Corio Corporation – which he founded and as Chairman and CEO, led the Company through its IPO and subsequent sale to IBM, Oracle, Booz-Allen & Hamilton and Xerox. Mr. Kadifa received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the American University of Beirut, his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology, and his MBA, with Honors from the University of Chicago.

Kyle Ryland, our Chairman of the Board , is the Managing Partner of Sumeru Equity Partners, where he focuses on leading investments in enterprise technology companies. Mr. Ryland chairs the firm’s investment committee and has nearly 30 years of experience with private equity investments, venture capital, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions in the technology sector. Prior to joining Sumeru Equity Partners in 2014, Mr. Ryland co-founded and served as Managing Director of Silver Lake Sumeru, where he also served on the investment committee and was responsible for leading investments in enterprise technology companies including software. Prior to co-founding Silver Lake Sumeru, Mr. Ryland was a Partner at Shah Capital Partners where he was responsible for middle market technology private equity investments. Prior to joining Shah Capital Partners, Mr. Ryland was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers and the Head of Global Technology Investment Banking, where he served as an advisor to a number of leading technology companies. Prior to Lehman Brothers, he was a technology investment banker at Robertson Stephens and also worked in the firm’s venture capital funds where he analyzed and executed venture capital investments. Mr. Ryland received his B.A. from Duke University, and his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business.

Robert (Randy) Randleman, our Chief Financial Officer , is a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Sumeru Equity Partners, where he focuses on portfolio company value creation initiatives. Mr. Randleman is also the firm’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, serves as a member of the firm’s investment committee and has over 20 years of finance and operating experience. Prior to joining Sumeru Equity Partners in 2014, Mr. Randleman was a Director of Portfolio Operations at Silver Lake Sumeru, where he joined in 2010 and was responsible for improving the operations of the fund’s portfolio companies. Prior to Silver Lake Sumeru, Mr. Randleman spent his career in finance and operating roles in technology companies. From 2006 to 2010, he was a finance executive at Qualcomm, and previously worked at Sprint Communications. Mr. Randleman began his career with U.S. Filter Corporation’s European operations, where he managed the integration of international acquisitions. Mr. Randleman received his B.S.F.S from Georgetown University, and his MBA (with distinction) from Harvard Business School.

Sanjeet Mitra, a director , is a Managing Director of Sumeru Equity Partners, where he focuses on leading investments in software, cloud and enterprise technology companies. Mr. Mitra is a member of the firm’s investment committee and has nearly 15 years of enterprise technology investing and transaction structuring experience. Prior to joining Sumeru Equity Partners in 2014, Mr. Mitra was a technology investor at Silver Lake Sumeru, where he joined in 2007 and was involved in several Silver Lake Sumeru software and technology investments. Prior to joining Silver Lake Sumeru, Mr. Mitra worked in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in San Francisco, where he worked with clients in the industrial, technology, media and telecom, and healthcare sectors. Mr. Mitra received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.

Tom Reilly, a director , has a 30-year career in the enterprise software market. Mr. Reilly previously served as the Chief Executive Officer at Cloudera from 2013 to 2019, leading the company’s $3.0 billion IPO followed by a successful $5.2 billion merger with Hortonworks. Prior to Cloudera, Mr. Reilly was Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Security at HP where he was responsible for all cybersecurity software and services offerings. Previously, Mr. Reilly served as CEO of enterprise security company ArcSight, where he led the company through its successful initial public offering and subsequent sale to HP for $1.5 billion in 2010. Before ArcSight, Mr. Reilly was Vice President of Business Information Services for IBM, following IBM’s acquisition of Trigo Technologies, a master data management software company, where he served as CEO. Mr. Reilly has served on the boards of four public software companies including ArcSight, Cloudera, Eloqua, and Jive and currently sits on private company boards at Anomali and Ombud. Mr. Reilly received his B.A. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
